Guatemala’s military tried to stop a migrant caravan. Refugees from Honduras were trying to enter the United States. The guards used tear gas. The soldiers also used batons to disperse them. About 1,000 citizens were extradited to Honduras.

About 9 thousand migrants crossed the border with Guatemala. The refugees intended to move toward Mexico. People hope to get housing and jobs in the States. Citizens expect a softening of U.S. migration policy after Joe Biden came to power, which was one of his election promises.
