Producer Harvey Weinstein is charged with another six counts of sexual offences. This was reported by Reuters on October 2, citing a statement by the prosecutor of the American district of Los Angeles (California), Jackie Lacey.
It is noted that the cases concern two victims and relate to incidents that occurred more than ten years ago.
“The willingness of these last victims to testify against a powerful man gives us the additional evidence we need to build a credible criminal case,” Lacey emphasized.
A New York court on March 11 sentenced Weinstein to 23 years in prison for raping two women at different times in 2013. In Los Angeles, the producer is waiting for another trial that could result in up to 29 years in prison.
In the summer it became known that women who previously accused the American film producer of sexual harassment and discrimination, will receive compensation in the total amount of $19 million.
