Head of government press center killed in Afghanistan

The head of the Afghan government press center, Dawa Khan Minapal, was assassinated in Kabul. TOLOnews reported this on Friday, August 6, on Twitter.

The murder took place on Dar-ul-Aman Avenue. It is not far from the Russian embassy in Afghanistan, NSN specifies.

The Taliban movement claimed responsibility for the attack, RT reports.

A day before, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Bikantov stated that the Taliban’s offensive in Afghanistan is wearing out because it does not have the resources to capture major cities such as Kabul.

He also noted that the government forces have managed to regain control of the lost territories in a number of provinces.
