Homeless man with bow made police disarm and fled into the woods in Germany

Police in the German state of Baden-Württemberg are conducting an operation to find a suspicious man armed with a bow, arrow, pistol and knife, the Badische-Zeitung reported July 12.

The suspicious man was spotted near Oppenau. Eyewitnesses reported that the man in camouflage costume was armed with a bow and arrows. The police officers who came to the call tried to identify the man and found that he was also armed with a knife and a pistol.

The law enforcement officers were unable to apprehend the man, first he disarmed them and then fled into the woods.

A search operation is currently under way to find the man, with some 200 armed officers wearing bulletproof vests and helmets. Three police helicopters have also been involved in the search.

The psychological state of the man has not yet been established with any precision. According to some reports, the suspect is a 31-year-old German citizen without a “permanent residence”, who has already been brought to the attention of the police because of violations of the law on arms trafficking.

The police warned the local residents about the operation and asked them to stay home.
