The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Wednesday it has placed a military satellite into orbit after months of failed attempts.
There has been no independent confirmation of the satellite launch yet.
“Iran’s first military satellite, Noor (“Light”), was launched this morning from central Iran. The launch was successful and the satellite entered orbit,” state television said.
The official website of IRGC specifies that the satellite entered orbit at an altitude of 425 kilometers above the Earth.
