The detainee, Endri Elesi, was arrested in Sparanis, province of Caserta in the Italian region of Campania. He was detained on charges of supplying arms to the perpetrator of the 2016 tragedy in Nice, Mohamed Lahouayedj Bouhlel, a Tunisian national.
The arrestee was identified by agents from Naples and Caserta with information provided by the Anti-Terrorism Group, and an arrest warrant for the suspect was issued by French authorities.
