Renowned actor and producer Jackie Chan said he would like to become a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the South China Morning Pos newspaper reported today, July 13.
According to the newspaper, during a symposium organized by the China Film Association, the 67-year-old Chan said:
“I am jealous that those gathered here are members of the Communist Party; I also think the CPC is wonderful because everything its leadership promises is sure to be fulfilled. I would like to become a member of the CCP,” the actor said.
To recap, Hong Kong-born Jackie Chan is best known for his role in a number of kung fu movies, including Rush Hour and Armor of God. He is a member of the People’s Political Consultative Council of China.
According to Forbes magazine, Chan earned $40 million in 2020.
