Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe resigns

At 2006 he was the youngest premiere after World War II. In 2012, he again headed the Cabinet, which he has led until today. Abe set a record for his time in power in Japan. The politician himself named his health condition as the reason for his resignation. Only in August, Abe already twice went to the hospital.

According to the constitution, Japan is a monarchic state. But the real power is concentrated in the cabinet and its head. Abe will remain prime minister until he is replaced. The prime minister himself said that a peace treaty with the Russian Federation would remain a priority for his successor.
