Sneakers of American rapper Kanye West were sold at an auction at Sotheby’s for a record $1.8 million, it was reported on Monday, April 26, in Twitter of the auction house.
It’s a black Nike Air Yeezy 1 with a beige outsole, designed by the musician in 2008 together with the Nike company. The pair was issued in a single copy, in which West appeared at the Grammy Awards the same year.
The sneakers were later sold at a charity auction in support of an Oregon hospital and were kept in a private collection until recently.
