Kidnappers shoot out with police officers in western Mexico

On Monday, April 19, a gang of kidnappers triggered a shootout with police officers in Guadalajara, capital of the Mexican state of Jalisco. As a result, two perpetrators were killed, regional governor Enrique Alfaro said on his Twitter page.

According to him, there were no injuries among police or civilians.

According to television channel Azteca, law enforcement officials freed the six kidnapped. No information about their condition was made public.

Earlier, on February 28, it was reported that an armed attack in the Mexican state of Jalisco killed 11 people and injured two others.
