Kiev has threatened Europe with the loss of gas transit through Ukraine. The country’s gas transportation system may be optimized for the domestic market. The statement was made by the head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine at a meeting with his German counterpart Feucht. According to German Galushchenko, Nord Stream-2 poses risks to energy security of Europe.

According to the Ukrainian minister, the new pipeline will lead to a deficit in the EU countries. With the launch of the Russian pipeline, the transit of raw materials through Ukraine will not exceed 15bn cu.m. per year. The capacity of Nord Stream-2 is 55bn cu.m. per year.
