Kurz announced the beginning of the second wave of coronavirus in Austria

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announced the beginning of the second wave of coronavirus in the country. According to him, the situation in Vienna is especially dangerous, which accounts for about half of all detected cases.

Two weeks ago, about 350 new Coronavirus patients were registered daily. The day before it was already about 850, said in a statement of the Chancellor, which quotes the agency APA. Soon the figure will be reached in 1 thousand new cases every day, said Kurtz.

Chancellor urged people to take precautions and reduce social activity. According to him, the light at the end of the tunnel is visible and next summer will be “generally normal,” but autumn and winter will be difficult.

In July, Austria began training working dogs to find coronavirus patients by smell. It is assumed that this method can identify even people with asymptomatic disease. In the future, such training may become mandatory for all working animals.

According to the data of statistical bureau Worldometer, as of September 13 in Austria 33 159 cases of coronavirus were registered. 756 people died, 26 760 recovered.
