Libyan military announced the transfer of authority to its own hands

Khalifa Haftar Field-Marshal announced the transfer of authority in Libya to the military. The Libyan nation took over the leadership of the country. Field-Marshal promised to rid the country of terrorists. The military also withdrew from the Skirat agreement, the document served to resolve the situation in the country.

It was signed in December 2015, eventually, according to the agreements, parliamentary elections were to be held in Libya. The United States called on Khalifa Haftar to engage in serious dialogue. The U.S. Embassy in Tripoli said that Haftar’s announcement on the transfer of power is regrettable.
