London ruled out a terrorist attack in the explosion near the station

The fire in the center of London near Elephant & Castle railway station is not connected with terrorism. It was announced on Monday, June 28, by the police of the British capital.

“The incident is not related to terrorism,” the police said in a statement posted on Twitter.

A major fire occurred earlier in the day. According to witnesses, it was preceded by an explosion. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

According to the British Fire Brigade, commercial buildings were burning under the arches of the railway bridge and the flames affected nearby cars and a telephone box.

At the moment 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters are working on the scene.
