A man was shot in the leg in Times Square, the most popular tourist destination in New York City. This was reported by the police department of the city on October 4.
“A man in his thirties suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg. His life does not appear to be in any danger. I have no information on whether he is hospitalized,” the police report said.
According to law enforcement officials, shots were fired at the intersection of 40th Street and Fifth Avenue.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Police denied reports of a shooting in Times Square on August 30. There were no shots fired at the intersection of 46th Street and Seventh Avenue, security officials said.
Earlier, it was reported that police were checking a report of a shooting at the New York Visitor Center. Law enforcement officials have asked residents to avoid the area.
