Manchester United FC claimed a hard-fought victory at home against Italian side Roma in their UEFA Europa League semi-final first leg clash.
The encounter took place on April 29 at Manchester’s Old Trafford stadium and ended 6-2 in favor of the hosts, with the English trailing 1-2 by the end of the first half.
Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani were among the winners, with midfielder Paul Pogba and forward Mason Greenwood scoring twice each.
In the first half, midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, who converted a penalty, and striker Edin Dzeko both scored against Rome. The visitors could not answer the English in the second half.
By the 37th minute the Italian club made three forced substitutions due to injuries. The return match is scheduled for May 6 in Rome.
