Medics held a protest by the White House

Several nurses and brothers went out to protest outside the White House, demanding that the administration purchase additional personal protective equipment.

The assembly read out the names of 50 of their colleagues who had died of the coronavirus.

“We are here because our colleagues are dying. Now people see us as heroes, but we feel like martyrs,” said a member of NBC News.

The National Nurses United is asking the administration to take advantage of the Defence Production Act to order mass production of personal protective equipment, ventilators and coronavirus test kits.

President Donald Trump has used the law on a limited scale in recent weeks to organize production of TRS machines and other equipment in response to the coronavirus outbreak, but has encouraged hospitals and states to take the lead in purchasing other materials.
