Michael Douglas talks about embarrassing situation at his 18-year-old daughter’s graduation

The 76-year-old actor was a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show and spoke in an interview about an incident involving his family in May. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are raising two children, 20-year-old Dylan and 18-year-old Caris. The star couple’s heiress graduated from high school this year and invited her parents to the prom.

“It was wonderful, I’m so proud of her. But I have to tell you, Kelly, it’s kind of rude when other parents tell you, ‘Congratulations! You must be so proud of your granddaughter!” I’m not going to take it personally, they were just trying to be polite,” the Oscar winner shared.

Catherine Zeta-Jones previously revealed how she and her husband tried to talk their heirs out of an acting career, but to no avail. “Like Michael, they’re going to have to be ‘those people’s kids’ … But even with that deterrent, my kids said, ‘No, I’m sorry, we still want to do it,'” the 51-year-old actress noted on The Drew Barrymore Show.
