Moderna rejected 400,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine

American biotech company Moderna has destroyed about 400 thousand doses of vaccine against COVID-19 due to problems at the final stages of production of the drug. This was reported Thursday, December 17, in an interview with Bloomberg agency by American immunologist Moncef Slaoui.

He noted that 400,000 doses were part of a larger batch of 1.4 million doses of the vaccine. The problems that emerged in the final stages of production were related to “filtering. Failures of this kind are common in processes of this complexity.

Moderna will still be able to produce the planned 20 million doses this month and 85 to 100 million doses for the U.S. in the first quarter of 2021, according to company spokesman Ray Jordan.

On Dec. 18, the U.S. government granted immunity from liability for vaccine side effects in volunteers to Pfizer and Moderna of America.

The first reports of the existence of side effects from U.S. vaccines have already surfaced. A video of a U.S. nurse fainting immediately after administering a vaccine is circulating on social media.
