More than 800 people died from coronavirus in Spain in the past 24 hours

The number of deaths in Spain due to coronavirus has exceeded 800 per day. The statistics was published on Saturday, April 4, by the Ministry of Health.

A total of 11,744 people died in the kingdom from coronavirus infection and its consequences, and 34,219 patients recovered. Friday’s data shows that 10,935 people were affected by the epidemic. Thus, 809 people have died in the last 24 hours.

In total, Spain has so far recorded almost 125,000 cases of infection with coronavirus. The day before, on April 3, the country passed Italy by this indicator.

A few days ago, the head of the Ministry of Health of Spain, Salvador Illa, said that the spread of the epidemic in the country has entered a stabilization phase. He noted that this happened due to the epidemiological measures taken by the authorities.

In addition, last Sunday, the Spanish authorities decided to tighten quarantine measures in the country for the next two weeks. Residents were instructed not to leave their homes for no particular reason and to maintain a regime of self-isolation.

An outbreak of COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus occurred in Wuhan, China in late December.

According to Worldometer at 13:30 on April 4, 1.13 million people were infected in the world, 60.1 thousand died and 234 thousand patients recovered.
