Mortar fire hits area of presidential palace in Somali capital

In the Somali capital, the area where the presidential palace is located was hit by mortar fire. At least four shells were fired into the area. This was reported by the Shabelle Media Network news portal.

The buildings near the residence were reportedly damaged by the explosions. There were no reports of injuries.

The current shelling was the second terrorist attack in Mogadishu on Saturday. In the morning, a suicide bomber attempted to assassinate the city’s police chief in the city center. Nine of his guards were killed and the police chief himself was unharmed.
