NATO countries have agreed on measures due to Russian missile capability enhancement

Heads of defense ministries of NATO countries have agreed on a package of measures in connection with the strengthening of the Russian nuclear potential, said Wednesday, June 17, Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

As part of this package, it was decided to strengthen the BMD and air defense systems, in particular to purchase additional Patriot systems.

“NATO countries have decided to purchase additional air defense systems Patriot and SAMP/T (produced by Italy and France – Ed.), as well as fifth-generation fighters in response to the creation of new missiles in Russia,” he said.
