Nintendo Switch gets Bluetooth audio support

Nintendo unexpectedly announced that Bluetooth audio support became available on the Switch with another software update. It had been missing since the console’s release in 2017, so this is a really important and welcome update.

There is only one limitation – only two wireless controllers can be connected to the console when connected to Bluetooth headphones. The system also doesn’t support Bluetooth microphones, but that’s not surprising given that Nintendo’s own voice chat system relies on an app in a smartphone.

TheVerge writes that everything works fine – the Switch and Switch Lite were easily able to connect AirPods Pro. The connection is established in the settings menu under “Bluetooth Audio.
