Nurmagomedov tested positive for coronavirus

Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has contracted the coronavirus. It is reported by Asian MMA.

According to the source, the athlete, who tested positive, is quarantined in a hotel room in Singapore. He is there because he planned to attend the fight of his ward Saigid Izaghmaev in the One Championship promotion. Details about the Russian’s condition were not specified.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the father of Khabib Nurmagomedov, died in July 2020. The honored coach of Russia passed away due to complications related to coronavirus.

Nurmagomedov became the UFC lightweight champion and defended the title three times. On his account he had 29 wins in 29 fights. The Russian announced his retirement from the sport in the fall of 2020.
