NY State authorities extended the quarantine measures until June 13

Quarantine measures introduced in the American state of New York – the most affected by the Coronavirus epidemic – have been extended until June 13. This was announced on Friday, May 15, ABC News reports with reference to the decree of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The official said that most central parts of the state will begin a gradual withdrawal from quarantine. However, in western New York and the eastern part of the state from Albany to Hudson Valley and Long Island, as well as in the “Big Apple”, there will be no relaxation of restrictive measures.

At the same time, Cuomo noted that if the number of cases of COVID-19 in these areas of the state reduced, a number of restrictions may cancel before that date.

According to Johns Hopkins University, which carries out calculations based on federal and local authorities, to date in the state of New York confirmed more than 330 thousand cases of infection with cornavirus, died – more than 27.6 thousand patients, recovered – 59 758.

In total in the USA since the beginning of COVID-19 epidemic 1 417 889 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed, 246 414 patients have recovered, 85 906 died.
