Only one of the 40 passengers on the boat with illegal migrants survived the wreck off the coast of Mauritania. This was reported on Thursday, August 6, by special representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Vincent Koshetel.

“A new shipwreck off the coast of the city of Nouadhibou, in Mauritania, which had about 40 people on board, there is one survivor,” said Kosetel.

According to preliminary information, the only survivor is a Guinean.

It is assumed that the ship was on its way to a European country.
