One person died in the crash of a seaplane in New York

A single-engine Cessna seaplane crashed into a concrete pier off the Long Island coast in the Whitestone area of New York in the afternoon of October 4. The New York Times reported this on Sunday, citing Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro.

One man was killed in the crash and two others were seriously injured. The victims were taken to local hospitals.

The emergency occurred around 3 p.m. local time.

Nigro said at a press conference that the plane “crashed to pieces.

According to witnesses, the plane “moved rather quickly on the water, flew past twice and crashed into the pier.

The newspaper notes that the skier who witnessed the crash helped to save two survivors. A third man on board was taken care of by fire department employees.

The causes of the accident have not been named yet.
