More than 100 fishermen were infected with an unknown disease in the west of Senegal. This was reported by the local publication Dacar Actu on Thursday, November 19.

It is noted that the disease center is located near the country’s capital – Dakar – between the port cities of Rufisque and Mbour. Diseased patients have rashes on the skin in the form of scabs.

According to preliminary data, the disease infected only those fishermen who went out on the open sea. That’s where the source of the unknown disease is located.

Local authorities held an urgent meeting with representatives of the fishing industry. It is reported that all patients with symptoms are hospitalized on the territory of the stadium in Ryufisk.
