Over 270 thousand Americans were left without electricity because of the hurricane

Hurricane “Laura” left 273 thousand residents of American states Louisiana and Texas without electricity. This was reported on Thursday, August 27, by the portal poweroutrage.us, which monitors the power outage in the U.S.

In Louisiana more than 215 thousand residents remained without power supply, in Texas – more than 58 thousand. On Thursday the Hurricane struck the American coast of Gulf of Mexico. It is now moving north at a speed of 24 km/h.

On August 7, New York City plunged into darkness because of Isaias storm; 120 thousand residents were left without light. Power outage led to failures in mobile communication.
