Pentagon granted access to 175 million IP-addresses to unknown firm

The Washington Post reports that the Pentagon gave 175 million IP addresses to an unknown firm. Global Resource Systems gained control of 6 percent of all identifiers on the Internet. As a result, the company surpassed the largest ISPs in America.

The U.S. Department of Defense said it was checking the addresses for vulnerabilities. GRS has existed for less than a year, there is no data on it in the public domain, and it is noted that the Pentagon has not used IP-addresses for many years.
