Physician names country that will become hotbed of new COVID-19 mutations

Dr. Hilary Jones has warned that Britain may soon become a breeding ground for new mutations of the coronavirus. He said this on ITV.

“We will have a factory, a real breeding ground for new variants of the virus,” the expert said.

According to him, the UK will soon face a morbidity rate of 50,000 cases of COVID-19 infections per day. This will lead to the fact that the virus will rapidly mutate.

He also said that the government is relying too much on a vaccine program when other measures are needed to fight the virus.

Dr. Jones noted, “We [Britain] would be in a great position if we were only dealing with the alpha mutation of the coronavirus, but now the delta variant, which is much more contagious, is spreading.”

On July 5, British scientists in the ZOE COVID Symptom Study revealed that symptoms of the Delta strain of coronavirus have become similar to those of a bad cold, such as a headache and runny nose. The study found that the most typical symptoms of the coronavirus are now also sore throat, sneezing, and persistent cough.

Earlier, on July 4, the UK announced the abolition of compulsory wear of masks. For his part, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that COVID-19-related restrictions are scheduled to be lifted by the end of the month.
