Pirates who snatched three Russians in Equatorial Guinea made no demands

No claims were made by pirates against three Russians abducted from two ships in Equatorial Guinea. This was announced on Sunday, May 10, at the Russian Embassy in Cameroon.

“In the port of Luba, 40 km from the capital, Flebusters attacked the ship and kidnapped two Russians from the board. So far, the pirates have not made any demands,” according to a report posted on Facebook.

Diplomats are in contact with the authorities of Equatorial Guinea and with representatives of the shipowner.

Earlier that day, the abduction was reported on the Dryad Global portal, which specializes in maritime security issues. It was noted that pirates in a speedboat flying the flag of the Comoros had attacked the Rio Mitong cargo ship, from which a Russian electrician had been kidnapped. The second attack was on the research vessel Rio Mitong, where two other Russian citizens were captured.
