Powerful explosion in Baghdad hospital kills more than 20 people

At least 21 people died Saturday evening, April 24, in an explosion and subsequent fire at a coronavirus clinic in southern Baghdad, and 40 others were injured.

According to Baghdad Today, the hospital’s oxygen cylinder storage facility exploded. The building burned almost completely from the inside. More than 20 fire brigades were involved in extinguishing the fire.

Rescue teams are now actively extinguishing the fire and evacuating patients and staff.
