A powerful explosion occurred in in the Somali capital of Mogadishu. It was reported by Reuters on Sunday, January 31.
As it is specified, near to a place of incident there is a hotel. The explosion was followed by gunfire and there have been no reports of injuries.
The agency added that the details are unknown, but the terrorist group Al-Shabaab (banned in the Russian Federation), which is fighting against the central government of Somalia, is often behind the bombings.
Such an incident in the country occurred at the end of December. A car bomb exploded on a busy street in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. The attack killed 90 people, including 17 Somali police officers and 73 civilians. According to city mayor Omar Filish, the dead include students from Benadir University.
