Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a daughter last Friday, according to a statement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
It is specified that the baby girl was named Lilibeth “Lily” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. The couple is also raising a two-year-old son, Archie.
“Lily was born on Friday, June fourth at 11:40 a.m. … in Santa Barbara, California,” the statement noted.
The parents said the girl weighs 7 pounds, 11 ounces (about 3.49 kilograms). It is emphasized that both Markle and the baby are feeling great.
Lily was named after her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, whose family nickname was Lilibeth. Another name, Diana, was chosen to pay homage to her late grandmother, Princess Diana of Wales.
