Prince William and Kate Middleton’s friend tells how their relationship began

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s lavish wedding was preceded by years of communication, but friends of Prince William and Kate Middleton knew from the start that they would inevitably be together. The future spouses met 20 years ago while studying at St. Andrews University in Scotland. Their dorm roommate told People magazine that the “chemistry” between the dukes was obvious.

“Every time Kate was in the room, William was totally focused on her. When they talked at lunch in the dining room, it was surprisingly natural, they had so much to say to each other. Watching those little moments, I thought, ‘Wow, this could really work out,'” Laura Warshauer shared.

On April 29, the Cambridges celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary, which took place at Windsor Castle in front of millions of people. In an interview on the occasion of her engagement, Kate talked about meeting William: “I was drenched in red when I met you and ran away embarrassed. It took us a while to get to know each other, but we’ve been good friends from the beginning.”
