A participant in an unauthorized protest in Minsk sprayed gas from a spray can in the face of a law enforcement officer. This was reported on Friday, September 18, by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in its Telegram-channel.

It is noted that an unauthorized protest was held the night before near the metro station “Uruchye”. Law enforcers repeatedly warned protesters that they had violated the law on holding mass events, but the gathered refused to comply with the police.

“At the same time, some citizens actively resisted the law enforcers. One of them sprayed tear gas in the face of a police officer and fled in an unknown direction,” the Interior Ministry said.

The Ministry indicated that three protesters were detained and taken to the local police department for trial. At the same time, the identity of the abuser who sprayed the gas has not yet been identified, and search activities are underway.

On September 16 it became known that 43 criminal cases were instituted in Belarus for threats of violence against police officers, 36 citizens were already brought to administrative responsibility.
