Fans of the Paris Saint-Germain football club (PSG) staged a riot in Paris on the occasion of the team’s entry into the UEFA Champions League final. Fans after the victorious match flooded the Champs-Elysées, where they used smoke bombs and fireworks.
Law enforcement agencies had to use tear gas to disperse the troublemakers.
The match of the 1/2 finals was held the night before. The Paris club defeated the German RB Leipzig 3-0. The score in the match was opened by PSG central defender Markinos, by the end of the first half the gap in the game increased midfielder Angel Di Maria. The last goal was scored by defender Juan Bernat.
In the history of “PSG” this is the first exit to the Champions League final.
Head coach of PSG Thomas Tuhel shared his emotions after the victory.
“Football is for fans. We do everything together with them. We feel that they are with us, that they believe in us. I really hope that they feel this team as their own,” he said.
The second finalist will be determined August 19 after the rivalry between the French Lyon and Bayern Munich. The final will take place August 23.
