A thousand Swiss servicemen will provide security during the June 16 meeting of US and Russian presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden in Geneva, Swiss government reports.
Switzerland has already approved sending thousands of military men to Geneva. They will help the cantonal authorities to guard the summit. Soldiers will be on duty near the buildings of foreign missions. In addition, they will provide local law enforcers with air and water transports.
This will not cause additional costs for the country since they are covered by the budget”, stressed the Swiss government.
The meeting between Putin and Biden will be held at the famous Villa La Grange. For the duration of the meeting, the sky over Geneva will be closed.
We have learned earlier that Vladimir Putin will arrive in Geneva for talks with his U.S. counterpart, Joe Biden, on the day of the summit, June 16. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the national leader, said this in a conversation with journalists.
