Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday, April 10, that new contacts with his American counterpart Donald Trump are still ahead.
In particular, Russian leader said he is ready to discuss topical international issues with Trump: cooperation in the fight against coronavirus, the situation on world markets and cooperation in space exploration.
“We are glad that our specialists are successfully working on the ISS program with their colleagues from the USA, one of the leading space powers. This is a clear example of effective partnership between our countries in the interests of all mankind. Just as we are now trying to cooperate in solving pressing problems, I mean the fight against the pandemic, the situation in world markets,” Putin said.
The President added that after the conversation with the leaders of the U.S. and Saudi Arabia he plans new talks with partners on oil prices.
The day before, April 9, Putin held telephone talks with Trump and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. The parties discussed the situation on the oil markets, including the negotiations within the framework of an extraordinary ministerial meeting in the OPEC+ format.
