Another rally against French President Emmanuel Macron’s policies and the vaccine pass is taking place in Paris on January 1.

For several days in a row France has been renewing its anti-record for the number of new cases of COVID-19. On December 31, 232,000 new cases were identified in the country in a 24-hour period.

On the same day, addressing with New Year greetings to compatriots, Macron expressed his hope for the end of the pandemic coronavirus in 2022.

According to the French leader, the country is in its fifth wave of infection and citizens still face difficult days, so the president urged those who have not yet been vaccinated to get vaccinated.

On December 22, French government spokesman Gabriel Attal stated that the situation with COVID-19 in the country is critical. According to him, the republic is at the beginning of a wave of spread of a new strain of the Omicron coronavirus.
