“Reims” doctor, who had coronavirus, killed himself

The doctor of the French football club “Reims” Bernard Gonzalez, infected with coronavirus, committed suicide, writes April 5 Le Parisien.

According to the publication, the 60-year-old specialist left a suicide note, in which he spoke about the connection between his decision and the disease.

In the last few days, Gonzalez was at home with his wife, who also fell ill with COVID-19.

The mayor of the city of Reims, Arnaud Robinet, called the incident a shock and did not reveal the details of the doctor’s suicide note.

Football club president Jean-Pierre Cayo expressed condolences to the relatives of Gonzalez, noting that the doctor was an excellent specialist.
