Residents of southern Japan evacuated due to heavy rains

The government of Japan’s southern prefecture of Okinawa advised residents of the territory to evacuate to special centers in connection with the danger caused by heavy rains and flooding. This was reported by FNN on Tuesday, June 29.

Especially heavy rains are recorded in the central and southern parts of the Japanese region, and there is a sharp increase in the risk of tragedy due to adverse weather conditions, including – flooding.

Two evacuation centers are located at the Okinawa City Hall and Welfare Culture Square.

In some areas, the amount of precipitation per hour exceeds 30 mm, but in parallel, experts allow the possibility of increasing this figure to 70 mm.
