Ronaldinho is released from prison in Paraguay

Paraguayan authorities released former Brazilian midfielder Ronaldinho from prison. This is reported by Football Espana.

According to the publication, the ex-footballer is currently under house arrest in one of the hotels in the capital of Paraguay, Asunción. In total, Ronaldinho spent one month in detention.

On 4 March, at a hotel in the capital of Paraguay, Ronaldinho and his brother and agent Roberto de Assis Moreira were detained after they found fake passports in their room. Two days later, they were released. However, the Asunción court did not accept the proposals made by the public prosecutor’s office and rejected the investigators’ request for the release of the brothers and the withdrawal of their charges.

March 7, the court of Asunción in Paraguay decided to extend the arrest of the former footballer for six months. However, the court did not release Ronaldinho from prison on bail of €1.5 million.
