Former Brazilian national team striker and owner of Brazilian “Cruzeiro” Ronaldo fell ill with COVID-19. This was announced by the soccer club’s press office on January 2.
It is noted that Ronaldo tolerates the disease in a mild form and is feeling well. Because of the coronavirus, Ronaldo will not be able to participate in the 101st birthday celebrations of the club.
“The phenomenon regrets that he will not be able to participate in the events planned for the next few days, but we will soon publish a new schedule of arrival in Belo Horizonte, appearances, meetings and press conferences,” the publication on the FC’s Twitter account states.
Ronaldo is a two-time world champion and two-time winner of the America’s Cup with Brazil
Earlier in the day, Argentinian striker Lionel Messi of French soccer club Paris Saint-Germain tested positive for the coronavirus.
