Russian and Turkish Patrol first fully inspected M4 highway in Syria

Joint Russian-Turkish patrol of the M4 highway in Syria for the first time passed along the whole route. This was reported in the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties on Wednesday, July 22.

The route starts from Trumba and ends near Ain al-Habr. Its total length is 71km, TASS reported.

The previous patrol took place in al-Hasakah July 20. The route length was 55 km.

March 5, Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Moscow to discuss the resolution of the conflict in Syria. The talks lasted more than six hours.

Following the talks, the parties managed to agree on measures to resolve the situation in Syria. As a result, the parties agreed to conduct joint patrols near the Syrian-Turkish border in order to secure the movement of civilians. The patrols were a guarantee that the situation in the region would not escalate.
