Resettlement of the planet can not be feared, by the end of the XXI century, the population of the Earth will decline significantly, but it will also lead to a change in the world order, writes the German newspaper Die Zeit.

Author Theo Sommer, referring to a study by the University of Washington in Seattle, writes that by 2100, 23 countries will lose half the population. Among them are Ukraine, Japan and Spain.

Thus, according to new forecasts of scientists, the growth of the world population has already slowed down, and since 2064 the number of people will begin to decline.

It is assumed that in 40 years the world population will be 9.73 billion, and by the end of the century it will be reduced to 8.79 billion.

In addition to the 23 countries that will lose 50% of their population, another 34 countries will lose 25% to 49%. China, for example, is forecast to reduce its population by 48% to 732 million people.

In addition, most countries will change their age structure. Now every tenth inhabitant of the planet is over 65 years old, in 2050 it will be already every sixth. By 2100, there will be 2.37 billion older people.

At the same time, the birth rate will fall. The exception will be Africa, where its population will increase from 1.3 billion to 4.3 billion.

All this, according to Sommer, should make people think about geopolitical, economic and climatic changes, as the world order will certainly change.
