North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has been in a coma for several months. This was announced by Jang Song Min, an assistant to former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung.
According to him, “Kim Jong-un is in a coma but not dead. All the public recordings of his recent appearances have been assembled. Part of Kim Jong-un’s duties have been transferred to his sister Kim Yo-jong.
“Full continuity has not yet been formed, Kim Yo-jong has been brought to the fore because the vacuum cannot be maintained for long,” the diplomat said.
In April this year, the DPRK leader did not appear in public for about three weeks. As a result, rumors have emerged that he is seriously ill or even dead. But in May, his photo appeared at the opening of a mineral fertilizer plant.
At the same time, information appeared about the redistribution of power in DPRK. For example, last week the National Intelligence Agency of South Korea reported that DPRK leader Kim Jong-un had transferred some of his authority to a group of officials and appointed his sister Kim Yo-jong as the country’s second in command. She is also now responsible for Pyongyang’s relationship with Seoul and Washington. At the same time, she is not named Kim Jong-un’s successor.
