Super typhoon Surigae rages in the Philippines at 195 km/h

More than 60 thousand people were evacuated because of a super typhoon in the Philippines. The storm with wind gusts of about 195 km/h hit the east of the country. The new typhoon received the name “Surigae” from local residents. Specialists say that with such a first strike of elements this year the country can expect a tense storm season. Natural disasters occur due to seasonal changes in the weather.

About 20 tropical storms hit the country every year. In 2020, the strongest typhoon “Goni” happened in the Philippines. Then the wind gusts reached 310 km/h, 25 people were killed and 345 thousand people had to be evacuated from the affected areas.
