Texas has an overcrowded migrant detention center

A migrant detention center in Texas is overcrowded, people don’t have enough room, have to sleep on the floor, and cover themselves with foil. Now there are more than 5,300 people in custody, and 800 children have been detained in a 24-hour period. There are up to 60 illegal immigrants in one box, which is five times higher than the norm during the pandemic.

According to the preliminary data, within a month the number of migrants increased by 12% and reached 210 thousand. The White House believes that such growth is caused by poverty and climate change in Central America. There is a risk of COVID-19 infection if all illegals are released.
